The purpose of the Curtin Electrical and Electronic Engineering Scholarship and Curtin Astrophysics Scholarship is to support and empower female and non-binary future leaders in these fields, and to provide a support network throughout the scholarship tenure where students can become part of the ICRAR-Curtin community. Applications open on January 15th, 2025.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Must identify as female or non-binary
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
  • Have a minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 70
  • Be enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum 50 credits) in the third year or above in an eligible course in semester 1, 2025* (*Applicants must have completed a minimum of 400 credits to be considered third year.)
  • Not in receipt of any other scholarships that are from the same funding source/or for the same purpose

The Scholarship includes:

  • A total value of up to $12,000 paid as a cash stipend of $3,000 per semester. The amount can be used at the recipient’s discretion to contribute towards education related expenses
  • The opportunity for paid summer vacation employment at ICRAR-Curtin, in an area relevant to an interest or field of study while still enrolled in a Curtin undergraduate degree

Eligible Astrophysics courses:

  • Bachelor of Science (Science) – Physics Honours Major 
  • Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) – Physics Major
    • Astrophysics stream
    • Applied Physics stream
    • Mathematical Physics stream
    • Materials Science stream

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) – Electrical and Computer Engineering Major
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) – Electrical and Electronic Engineering Major
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) – Software Systems Engineering Major
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Science – Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Science Double Degree Major
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Science – Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Data Science Double Degree Major
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Science – Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Physics Double Degree Major
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Commerce – Electrical and Electronic Engineering Double Degree Major
